The Family Fitness Program started in 2022 and is a collaboration between: Niagara Track & Field Club, USATF: Niagara Association, and the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation.
The goal of the 5-week (Saturday) program is to introduce youth to the various events of Track & Field while addressing the issue of Childhood Obesity in the areas of exercise and nutrition.
The original program was designed for youth participation. Niagara Track & Field Clubs "Family Fitness" program includes the entire family in the activities, which include Track & Field activities, Yoga, Aerobics, and Line Dancing.
The final week of the program closes with a family kickball game, certificates for the youth and healthy refreshments.
Some of the youth participants discover track and field events that they enjoy and enroll in the Summer Track & Field program.
